RUPTURE DE L'HORIZON
Nature exists independently of the landscape, it is in itself. It starts to exist for man and his eye only from the moment it becomes landscape. Man then calls nature landscape.
The man cannot thus seize nature in itself because he always models it according to point of view: he shapes it with his hands to make a sculpture, or a model; he shapes it through his glance to draw it, to translate it (in image) such as he sees it, understands it, feels it. He has a subjective vision of nature and nature exists only through his work or his eyes.
